Appointments - What to expect

A comprehensive consultation  will begin with understanding your needs and will only end when your options are detailed for you.

We will use cutting edge technology and we give you something that is considered a little old fashioned... Time.

An initial consultation at Russo and Associates Optometry includes a full comprehensive eye examination and a thorough ocular health check, including a wide-field Optomap retinal image. Should further testing be needed, such as a contact lens examination or a visual field test for glaucoma, an additional appointment will be made at this time.

Paediatric consultations vary.

Our expertise in paediatric eyecare allows us to examine babies right through to young adults at tertiary level.

Theses examinations can vary widely depending on the requirements of the patient. We routinely manage strabismus (turned eye), lazy vision, paediatric contact lenses, Orthokeratology and vision related learning difficulties. We are also able to manage children and adults with brain injuries or intellectual disabilities.

An initial examination for your child will include a full binocular vision workup and an ocular health check. It also may include screenings for various conditions such as Meares-Irlen Syndrome and Visual Processing Disorders. If any of these screenings are found to be positive, or if the Optometrist deems it necessary, a future appointment will be made for further testing in either of these areas. Due to the correlation between poor classroom performance and the need for glasses, a visual processing appointment cannot be made without an initial consultation first, even if this has been completed with another optometrist.

Dandenong is a thriving city centre.

Extra time should be allowed to find an appropriate car park. Directly in front of the practice and on the opposite side of the highway is 1 hour metered parking.

The south side of Lonsdale Street is 1 and 2 hours parking unmetered.
